Next you will notice a window popup with game display properties. To do this, go to the LEGO Rock Raiders folder usually located in 'c:\Program Files(x86)\LEGO Media\Games\Rock Raiders' and double click on the 'LegoRR.exe' file, this is the game. Hopefully I’ll be able to get other old Lego games that I never could complete running and finish them this time. I highly recommend anyone who has an interest to try the game out. I never expected to like such games but after enjoying this one so much I might look at other similar games (such as those of the city-builder genre). One is able to establish a base (Rock Raider HQ) and teleport down (presumably from some mothership somewhere in space) various vehicles to traverse the different terrain (Ground, Water and Lava), defend their base from the natives.Īs you can see, the graphics aren’t the best but there’s definitely that blocky Lego feel to the models and one can even say that it’s part of the experience. It’s a sort of management game, where the player is in control of minions Rock Raiders, with different goals to achieve for each level. While the graphics might not be the best, and the game is pretty small owing to not being able to run the game in fullscreen mode, it’s definitely still playable. I could never complete it as a kid but here go, I finally managed to get it running on Windows 8 and have got myself a second chance at completion (thanks to the help from the folks here – the missing d3drm.dll can be found here, download it and place it in the game folder)! Recently, I’ve been busy whiling away my free time on this Lego video game from 1999, Rock Raiders.
